SICUR trade show

A couple of weeks ago I went to Madrid to visit the Siti/AsLAN. (You can read a note about Siti/Aslan in my tech blog), after a couple of hours in that technological trade show we also visited SICUR which is a physical security trade show. We went there only because we had time after visiting the asLAN, but at the end it was pretty interesting indeed.

There were several cool things. For example the Super-firefighters-vehicle-for-airports which was like a high tech tank with water propellers instead of cannons. We also had the opportunity to touch real guns. We were playing with a Veretta gun and one assault rifle and a sniper one. It was cool because this was the first time in my life touching real assault weapons (I can’t see myself using these things seriously but I admit they are interesting). Also we enter in a surveillance vehicle full of demonstration cameras and while we were playing with them we discover that whisky is part of the standard equipment.

Speaking about vehicles, we saw a armored car for very important people with its own system of air renovation, so they can’t get intoxicate in case of explosions plus they can smoke and their clothes will not get impregnated of tobacco smell odor. Antonio saw a taser, something I couln’t find but I always wanted to see in action.

Maybe next time!
